【摘要】:Thedeterminationofthecarbonnumberdistributionofpetroleumwaxesandthenormalandnon-normalhydrocarbonsineachcanbeusedforcontrolofproductionprocessesaswellasaguidetoperformanceinmanyenduses.Dataresultingfromthistestmethodareparticularlyusefulinevaluatingpetroleumwaxesforuseinrubberformulations.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthequantitativedeterminationofthecarbonnumberdistributionofpetroleumwaxesintherangefromn-C17throughn-C44bygaschromatographyusinginternalstandardization.Inaddition,thecontentofnormalandnon-normalhydrocarbonsforeachcarbonnumberisalsodetermined.Materialwithacarbonnumberaboven-C44isdeterminedbyitsdifferencefrom100mass%andreportedasC45+.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletopetroleumderivedwaxes,includingblendsofwaxes.Thistestmethodisnotapplicabletooxygenatedwaxes,suchassyntheticpolyethylenegloycols(forexample,Carbowax),ornaturalproductssuchasbeeswaxorcarnauba.1.3Thistestmethodisnotdirectlyapplicabletowaxeswithoilcontentgreaterthan10%asdeterminedbyTestMethodD721.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoconsultandestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
