【摘要】:Evaluationoftheimpacttoughnessoffilmisimportantinpredictingtheperformanceofamaterialinapplicationssuchaspackaging,construction,andotheruses.Thetestsimulatestheactionencounteredinapplicationswheremoderate-velocitybluntimpactsoccurinrelativelysmallareasoffilm.Thevaluesobtainedbythistestmethodarehighlydependentonthemethodandconditionsoffilmfabricationaswellasthetypeandgradeofresin.Testmethodsemployingdifferentmissilevelocities,impingingsurfacediameters,oreffectivespecimendiameterswillmostlikelyproducedifferentresults.Dataobtainedbythistestmethodcannotnecessarilybecompareddirectlywiththoseobtainedbyothertestmethods.Theimpactresistanceofafilm,whilepartlydependentonthickness,doesnothaveasimplecorrelationwithsamplethickness.Hence,impactvaluesexpressedinjoules(ftx00B7;lbf)normalizedoverarangeofthicknesswillnotnecessarilybelinearwiththickness.Datafromthistestmethodarecomparableonlyforspecimensthatvarybynomorethanx00B1;15%fromthenominaloraveragethicknessofthespecimenstested.Thetestresultsobtainedbythistestmethodaregreatlyinfluencedbythequalityoffilmundertest.Theinfluenceofvariabilityofdataobtainedbythisprocedurewill,therefore,dependstronglyonthesamplequality,uniformityoffilmthickness,thepresenceofdiemarks,contaminants,etc.Severalimpacttestmethodsareusedforfilm.Itissometimesdesirabletoknowtherelationshipsamongtestresultsderivedbydifferenttestmethods.Astudywasconductedinwhichfourfilmsmadefromtworesins(polypropyleneandlinearlow-densitypolyethylene),withtwofilmthicknessesforeachresin,wereimpactedusingTestMethodsD1709(TestMethodA),TestMethodD3420(ProceduresAandB),andTestMethodD4272.ThetestresultsareshowninAppendixX2.DifferencesinresultsbetweenTestMethodsD1709andD4272areexpectedsinceTestMethodsD1709representsfailure-initiatedenergy,whileTestMethodD4272isinitiationpluscompletionenergy.Somefilmsmayshowconsistencywhentheinitiationenergyisthesameasthetotalenergy.ThisstatementandthetestdataalsoappearinthesignificanceandappendixessectionsofTestMethodsD1709andD3420.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesthedeterminationofthetotalenergyimpactofplasticfilmsbymeasuringthekineticenergylostbyafree-fallingdartthatpassesthroughthefilm.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;Filmhasbeenarbitrarilydefinedassheetinghavingnominalthicknessnotgreaterthan0.25x03BC;m(0.010in.).Note28212;ThistestmethodandISO7765x2013;2addressthesamesubjectmatter,butdifferintechnicalcontent(andresultscannotbedirectlycomparedbetweenthetwotestmethods).TheISOtestmethodcallsforadirectreadoutofenergybyusingaloadcellaspartoftheimpactorhead,whileTestMethodD4272callsforaconstantweightimpactor,thenmeasuringthetimeoftravelthroughagivendistance......
